On December 1st, more than 165 organizations gathered at the “Grand Colloque Ag-tech du Québec”. All invested in the deployment of solutions and technologies that support the transition to tomorrow's agriculture, these organizations participated to showcase their innovations in sustainable development in the agri-food sector.
As an important partner of our company, the Ag-tech Zone believes that our technology can contribute to reforming the agricultural industry by optimizing the production process and reducing GHG emissions, particularly those related to food imports. In addition to being a solution to address issues related to food security and climate change, which are the cause of many problems that have direct consequences on
the global supply chain. The Ag-tech Zone has the ambition to establish the MRC de l'Assomption and the province of Quebec as a research, training, technological innovation and value creation zone recognized worldwide in the eyes of the agri-food sector.
This 3rd edition of the Grand Colloque Ag-tech was the first time that Virgo participated to the event as an exhibitor. Our technology aroused a lot of interest among the participants, receiving a positive response from them. Therefore, it was a great opportunity to initiate partnerships with local companies who were also exhibiting their work along us at the conglomerate.
The various conferences that took place during the conference allowed us to learn more about the future of agriculture and the expectations towards our local industry. Topics such as the financing programs available for agricultural technologies, digital agriculture and precision farming technologies as well as their impact on the environment were discussed; in short, topics that directly affect the development of our project.
The Grand Colloque Ag-tech proved to be an enriching experience and an opportunity to engage with key players in the Quebec agricultural industry. We are delighted to see the common enthusiasm for a rapid green transition in the agricultural sector; this is proof that our project has relevance to the eyes of the communities and that it is imperative to continue our efforts to strengthen and diversify our offer locally,
but also internationally.
