SAAC 2023

SAAC IS THE LARGEST STUDENT FAIR IN CANADA, AIMED AT SHOWCASING THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR AND RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION.

VIRGO PARTICIPATED IN SAAC TO DEMONSTRATE ITS UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY AND ITS BENEFITS, AND TO INCREASE ITS VISIBILITY TO THE PUBLIC.

THE EVENT WAS A SUCCESS, WITH MANY EXHIBITORS AND CONFERENCES ON VARIOUS TOPICS RELATED TO AGRICULTURE AND FOOD.

The SAAC (Agriculture, Food, and Consumer Fair) is the largest student fair in Canada. Its goal is to showcase the agri-food sector and to popularize agricultural information among the public. The event took place from January 13th to January 15th and was free for the public, welcoming around 4000 people.

Virgo decided to participate in SAAC to demonstrate its knowledge and the advantages of the technology, and to increase its visibility among the public. By setting up a booth, we were able to highlight our unique technology and show people the benefits of its use. Additionally, we coordinated and collected a production of lettuce and basil entirely focused on the tasting of our products during the event to demonstrate the quality and taste that our technology can offer. The goal was to gain as much public recognition as possible to promote our mission and activities.

The event was a success with the participation of many exhibitors such as UPA, Agriculture Canada, Quebec pork and milk producers, as well as Verger Pedneault, Torréfacteur Tatum, the Cégep de Victoriaville, Apikol Distillery, Mycélium Business Incubator. There were also conferences on topics such as "Eat for less with Geneviève O'Gleman", "Street Greenhouses with the Urban Agriculture Laboratory and Solidarity Crossroads" and "For Green Meat with Dominique Dumas".

We greatly appreciated the interesting and enlightening discussions we had throughout the weekend, as well as the opportunity to share our passion for agronomy. We also liked being able to demystify agricultural technologies among the general public and show their benefits in our world.

In conclusion, the event was a great showcase for Virgo, allowing the public to discover the company's stakeholders and its mission. It is important to continue to popularize information and to inform the general public about different agricultural practices and Quebec know-how to encourage consumers to make responsible choices and to support local agriculture.
